My Lord,
May I have the honor to state that twelve months' leave of absence, which was granted by H. E. The Governor of Hong Kong for 18/44 and was subsequently extended by Your Lordship for another twelve months, will expire at the beginning of next month; but as I am at present not in a position to return to my post in as much as my legal studies necessitate, under the present system and regulations of the Inn of Court, the keeping of full 12 legal terms before I can be called to the Bar.
